Description
Done in the autumn of 2014, this face is my first experiment in embossing and forging copper. This was actually made from a salvaged large copper pipe.
Copper is soft and nice to work with. I don't like leaving visible hammer marks on steel sculptures, but on this one the marks remind me of brush strokes on a canvas. This has given me new ideas that I wish to bring to life in the near future.
